Where: Shenandoah National Forest, VA • Near Mile Post 47 Skyline Drive

Notes: This hen was foraging up on the bank along the road side even with (or slightly above) my truck window. This provided a sturdy base and good shooting angle. She walked along the edge of the woods for 30 or 40 feet and I was able to take several shots before she headed off into the forest.
