Where: Richmond, VA • Wilkinson Rd.
Notes: The onset of frosty mornings and cold northwest breezes, are a preview to the winter’s approach. The colder weather reminds me of days spent in my youth, counting birds on local Christmas Counts. These surveys are part of the longest running citizen science project to date. Consider checking with your local Audubon Society or birding group for information on dates and locations. Some even have fellowship dinners or gatherings afterwards to tally the days efforts. Something interesting always turns up. Comradely, fellowship and a common purpose, make for a fun-filled day.
