Where: Richmond, VA • Glidewell Rd.
Notes: These little "red-heads" have been another of my favorites, ever since I photographed a nesting pair years ago. I had photographed a pair in my early days of bird photography (SEE: Pic Of The Week 06-19-06). They are such charming little sparrows. I became excited to hear their high pitched "chi chi chi chi chi chi" call again this spring around the neighborhood. We only have them around for a two or three day window during migration, so I hoped for a chance at a photo, while they were here. I know they love the birdbath, so I set up the camera and blind. I managed to get a couple nice still shots and a great VIDEO CLIP of three "Chippies" enjoying the water. What a treat!
