Build It and They Will Come!

This full color booklet contains step-by-step detailed instructions, illustrations and photographs demonatrating how to add a natural looking, low maintenance water source in your backyard habitat. It’s great for small lots and terrace gardens too, because of its very small footprint. The year-round design keeps the water flowing, even during lengthy periods of sub-freezing temperatures. The movement of the water and trap screen completely prevent algae and mosquito growth, while it provides a waterfall ambiance that brings songbirds down from the highest treetop canopy for a bath. This is accentuated by the additional dripper; both run off the same water reservoir and pump, not off a garden hose (and your water bill) as in some systems. Once topped off, it will consistently run for nearly an entire month or more, without running dry! Quite a difference from the typical concrete baths that dry up and junk-up every 3 or 4 days. This is a time proven time proven system that will last for years to come. This mini water feature basically consists of a small reservoir, submersible water pump, a heater, filter box, and a medium sized rock with a slight depression on top. All the parts can be found at a local landscape supply, garden center or hardware store to build you own.

Also includes: a section on placement, where to find a birdbath rock, system design with dripper and even a section on photography. This fun garden project can be installed in a few hours for around $250. This 16 page FULL COLOR instruction booklet is adorned with 55 photographic examples of the 77 plus species this system has attracted to this "Bird Spa" at just one location. This birdbath system provides years of viewing enjoyment for the whole family, while it improves your backyard habitat

"I had three species of warbler at the water feature this evening. I believe one is a Wilson's Warbler. I also had what I believe is a female or a first year male Cape May Warbler. I hope the the other will return in the morning. This wonderful water feature is certainly paying off. I have never had any of these birds in the yard before." - Lexi Meadows - Gretna, VA

"Birds, like all other animals, prefer habitats that meet all their basic survival needs: food, shelter and water. Birds depend on water for hydration, to maintain body temperature, and to condition their feathers for flight. Having a constant, reliable, clean running water source in your landscape will attract more birds than ever before; this is especially true for the many species that are not drawn in with birdseed and suet. Water is alluring to birds because it is so essential to their well-being. This is my second "Bird Spa" I have built and I absolutely love it. There have been over 80 different species visit this birdbath in my backyard in Richmond, VA." - Bob Schamerhorn - Richmond, VA

"The natural rock bird bath has been a game changer for me as far as attracting birds that are absent from the typical backyard. The dripper feature lures elusive birds, such as warblers during Spring and Fall, and the heater makes it a operational year round. I highly recommend it. - Naseem Reza - Richmond, VA

"I had been wanting to make a birdbath out of rocks using a pump for awhile now, but got overwhelmed with the “how to”. The instructions really helped. I made a two-tier bath, so there are small pools on each level. I’ve had it running for a few weeks. Next year I plan to do plantings around it to make it look more natural. - Sonya Richenson - Ashland, VA

"My husband finished the birdbath and I am absolutely thrilled with it. You can see the smile on their beaks!" - Karen Fairchilds - Stuarts Draft, VA

I enjoy my rock bird bath in Richmond, Virginia so much that I have installed a second one at our cottage in Wisconsin where birds like the Baltimore Oriole and Rose-breasted Grosbeak are regulars in the summer months. - Naseem Reza - Door County, WI
